This weekend was pretty nice!!! Saturday I had my Digital Photography Field Trip Class at the Chicago Botanic Garden– I’ve got one word to describe it– AWESOME. The weather was perfect, my student was awesome, and our shots were awesome!!! We played with our shutter speed settings and photographed the waterfall to get the soft and dreamy smooth water effect.  Too cool.  Here are some of my shots from Saturday morning’s class:

September’s Digital Photography Field Trip Class will be on September 11th 10:00 am to noon at Cantigny Gardens in Wheeling. There will be a civil war reenactment this weekend as well which will provide interesting photo opportunities! They have a garden, classic colonial style buildings, and tanks (the fact that they have military tanks kinda throws me off, but it does make for some unique photo ops!)

I’ve been to the Garden 3 times in the last two weeks (wha? that’s not excessive– if I could, I’d go every day…) Its so unbelievably gorgeous over there. And every time I go, it’s always different! TONS of new tulips have started popping up this week, (the esplanade is FULL of them! and the bulb garden is starting to bloom nicely as well. ) Soon, I suspect by this weekend or early next week, the crab apple blossoms and lilacs will be out in full bloom too… After that, the alliums, lilies, and peonies…

You know, a photo a day for a year sounds really easy, right? Sure, it is, until your critic gets into the picture (ha! no pun intended.) I have to keep reminding myself that it’s just a photo a day– it doesn’t have to be a rock star every time… I can’t believe I’m on day 90. Sure, I’ve missed a few days here and there, but for the most part, I’ve kept with it. I am starting to feel that my photos are getting a little repetitive though (hello critic!) Only 275 days left (gulp!!)…

wow. it was absolutely gorgeous in chicago yesterday. in the 70’s and sunny– an absolutely perfect spring day. today will be more of the same! I’m looking forward to my 4 day weekend, Easter (and the after Easter candy sales!) and going to the Garden on Sunday. This will be my first visit to the Garden this spring. I can’t wait!!! I’ve already seen a few magnolia trees in full bloom!

oh, i am so ready for spring. bring it on!

so… yeah… i accidentally deleted my 365 pic for yesterday (d’oh! especially painful after risking life and limb shooting while driving again!) So, instead of an awesome 365 of power lines and telephone poles, you get nature. enjoy!
